I was tagged by Rebecca Burke from bexcapades to complete the Christmas Tag. This post an extra one in my Blogmas series.
Use one noise to describe how excited you are for Christmas? – Phew.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve? – Yes, I do. In Hungary, we open presents on Christmas Eve, after dinner.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year? – We no longer go to visit my in-laws on the 25th, so there’s no haste and packing our suitcases on Christmas Eve. We’re going to their place on the 26th. I’m looking forward to having a slow-pace Christmas Eve without having to go to bed early, packing, etc.
Is your Christmas Tree real or fake? – Fake. I feel sorry for all those trees that are cut down for Christmas and then end up in the bins after the holidays.
What is your favourite Christmas film? – “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
Where do you usually spend your holiday? – I spend Christmas Eve with my husband and daughter and go to visit my in-laws on the 26th. My parents usually come on the 23rd. No visitors in our house on the 24th!
What is your favourite Christmas song? – “Santa Baby” by Michael Bublé.
What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat? – Before I started the low-carb diet, it was our traditional walnut/poppy seed roll, “bejgli”. I can’t eat in anymore, unfortunately. I don’t really have a favourite food. If I had to pick one, it would be salmon.
Be honest, do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better? – Giving. I don’t really like receiving gifts because I hate surprises. That’s why I write a wish list and email it to my relatives.
What is your favourite thing about Christmas? – When it’s just the three of us at home.
When do you start getting excited for Christmas? – Right after my birthday which is 27th November. I think it’s because on 5th December we have Santa Claus Day, and from that on, the preparation for Christmas officially starts.
What is the best Christmas present you have ever received? – Three years ago my husband bought me a set of Jack Skellington mugs (there were four mugs in a set). You could see it on Instagram in late October.
What is the worst Christmas present you have ever received? – I don’t remember any bad Christmas presents.
As a kid, did a sibling ever receive a present that you wished was for you? – I’m an only child. However, I once made a gift that I wanted to keep.
What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season? – Vienna or Prague. They’re said to be beautiful around Christmas.
Most memorable holiday moment? – Probably when I got a dollhouse for my Barbie dolls. I don’t remember how old I was. I do remember though that the dollhouse was huge, pink and there was an elevator in it and I was over the moon when I saw it.
Do you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them? – No, I don’t.
