Bullet journal setup – September 2018

When I was planning this setup and was looking for inspiration, I noticed that for September, almost everyone chooses an autumnal theme. Last year it was quite warm in September and according to meteorologists, the weather will be similar this year, too and it not the falling leaves and cool weather that this situation makes me think of, so I picked a floral-pastel theme.

This month, I changed the language of my bullet journal to English. Another change is that in this setup, I included a calendar-like page. Until now, I did have it, because I tried it last year but it didn’t work for me. This month though is going to be so busy that I found it necessary to have a page where I can keep track of the events.

I put down a sticker on the title page/cover page. For this, I downloaded a floral wreath illustration from freepic.com and edited the word “September” in the middle using picmonkey.com. I printed the design on sticker paper, cut it and placed it on the page.

For the next page, I chose a quote. I printed it on an A5 sheet of paper and adhered it to the page.

On the rest of the pages, I worked with Stabilo fine liners, Stabilo highlighters and watercolour paint. Unfortunately, I accidentally ripped the “Finances” page, so I put down a sticker to conceal the rip.

The washi tape I used on several spreads is from aliexpress.com.

In the video, you can see that on the “Thesis tracker” page, in the pencil version, I misspellt the word “analysis” and in the ink version, it looks really ugly. It happened because this is the part of my thesis that makes me terribly anxious and even the thought of the analysis makes me sick. I translated both of the articles easily and I did the analysis of the Engish to Hungarian translation, but the latter was such a painstaking job, took so much time and drained my brain so much that I’ve kept putting off doing the analysis of the Hungarian to English translation for weeks as thinking about it makes my hands shake. Fortunately, as a translator, I will only have to translate and I won’t have to do a deep analysis of my work.

I love pastel floral theme you have gone with! It’s so cute. Love the colour scheme too – pastel colours are my favourite! I might try having a bullet journal next year, they look really fun. Also, love the design of your nails in the video! πŸ™‚

I’m glad you liked the post. It’s really fun to have a bullet journal. Once you try it, you become addicted to it.
I wrote a post about my nail art and I also made a tutorial video. If you’re interested, check them out. πŸ™‚

I’m glad you like my theme.
It’s been stormy since last night here but I listened to the weather forecast this afternoon and summer is coming back. I would be happier if this colder weather could stay a bit longer.

I want to use it as kind of a blog/YouTube planner, too. So far, I have used it for planning everything but now I’m using an A5 Filofax as a family planner and I wanted to have something for my personal stuff and blog. I think it’s nice to have a “me-only” planner/journal.
I didn’t find a calendar necessary in the past few months because I’m on maternity leave, so there isn’t much going on, but in September, I’m starting my last semester at university (studying to get my second degree) and from September to January, I will be super busy.

I always love looking at bullet journal posts, they really inspire me to get mine started again! The pastel/floral theme is so pretty and you have such beautiful handwriting, it’s super neat. Yay for Stabilo highlighters, they are my favourite! The quote you have chosen is so motivating too! Such a great post lovely, so colourful & creative, thank you for sharing πŸ’– xx

I’m glad you liked my spread. Unfortunately, it’s not my everyday handwriting. I’m experimenting with handlettering styles, but they serve merely decorative purposes. My “normal” handwriting is a hot mess.
