I love the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25H foundation and I’ve been using it for a long time. Before Christmas, I saw the Breathable version at dm and I decided to try it.
By the way, it came with a makeup bag which made me like a kid with her toy. But now let’s get to the point, let’s see how the foundation worked on my dry/sensitive skin!
I bought the shade Light Ivory 001 as the “Ivory” shades of Rimmel usually match my skin tone. According to the description, it’s a lightweight, medium coverage, longlasting foundation.
It was surprising to me that it’s not in a pump bottle but it has a gigantic applicator attached to the cap. I couldn’t expect anything positive when I saw it because I don’t really like products with applicators but I thought I should give it a chance. To be honest, I was pleasantly disappointed with it. I could apply the foundation really nicely with the applicator, then I fixed it with my finger here and there. The product itself is more runny than the original Lasting Finish 25H but it blends nicely and it doesn’t leave that “I’m wearing makeup” sensation on my skin.
I applied two layers of it because the first layer couldn’t cover up my rosacea completely. It made my pore disappear and smoothed my skin. It didn’t cover up my pimples perfectly, but oh well, that’s what a concealer is for. The coverage is a good medium which is absolutely enough for me. I don’t mind if some blemishes or my freckles can be seen under the foundation. It would bother me more if I tried to conceal all my blemishes with a thousand layers of makeup.
As far as lastingness is concerned, it is long lasting just like it’s original sister: for me, it lasts almost all day and it’s baby kiss-proof. What I really liked about it was when I touched my face a couple of hours after applying the foundation and my skin felt pleasantly hydrated and it didn’t feel sticky whatsoever.
Its only drawback was the fact that it’s too pinkish and it doesn’t look good on my skin. I managed to make it somewhat better with some powder but it’s not perfect. If it was more on the yellow side, it would be the perfect foundation and I would give it a 5 on a scale of 5, but it’s only a 4.
Despite the colour, I think I’ll buy it again because I really like the lastingness and the way it feels on my skin.
